Bedtime has become an issue once again here at The Triplet Farm. For almost, not quite a year we could just put the kids in their cribs and they would quietly lay down and sleep though the night. Very sadly, that time has passed…
Now, I have to lay on the floor in the girls room and sing until I am hoarse. Sometimes it takes an hour for them to fall asleep. Daddy lays in the bed in Jase’s room until he is sleeping. Most of the time Daddy passes out too.
I’m reading to them all the bedtime/nighttime books I can find. While these are three of their favorites, they haven’t quite lulled them into dreamland…yet. I have faith. Also, please tell me this is just a phase. I miss spending time with my husband in the evenings. But, that’s another story for another time.
Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site by Sherri Duskey Rinker
This is a total boy book, but the girls love it too! With the rhyming text and awesome artwork it’s no reason they ask for this book every single night. There is also a glow in the dark version of the book and a matching game as well. Considered those purchased!

How to Catch a Monster by Michael Yu
This is a wonderful book about a boy that doesn’t like getting ready for bed. Chocolate chip cookies and a monster save the day (or night) though. The illustrations in the book are beautiful. This book I don’t mind reading over and over again.

Goodnight Illinois by Adam Gamble
This books showcases everything we love about our state. The kids love reading about the John Deere Pavilion and the Mississippi River. Again, it has yet to help get them to sleep. But we’ll continue reading this book for awhile.
