Friday Five | Birthday Planning, Valentine’s Day, and Stars Hollow

I penned myself home and life coordinator, which includes 221 different jobs, by the way, soon after the triplets were born. It’s a job that I love, love, love, but it can be excruciatingly painful (physically and mentally) at times too. Like when Daddy is away for work. Like he has been for the last 48 hours. Like, I’m exhausted. Like, like…what was I saying?

While I’m not being a snack slave or being arts and crafts leader lately, I have found myself already planning the triplet’s 4th birthday. Ugh. It pains me to even type that. And I’ve been surfing the net (do people even still say that?) for all things Valentine’s Day. While working on de-cluttering our home I have come across an amazing toy storage solution. And at the end of the day, after the chaos of bedtime has settled, I sink into my warm and cozy bed to binge watch Gilmore Girls and dream of moving to a Stars Hollow like town.

Here’s my Friday Five for the week.

1 | Birthday Planning

Planning a birthday party for mixed gender triplets is hard. I know, it sounds silly, but when all three of your kids are completely different in every way settling on a theme is less than easy. J is all boy. He wants Blaze or Ninja Turtles or John Deere. H is our animal lover. She wants Secret Life of Pets or Pluto or Paw Patrol again. And S is our girly girl. She wants a Disney princess, Minnie Mouse or Shopkins party.

See what I mean? This year I have hinted to them to have a Trolls party. They loved the movie and love the soundtrack even more. I will repeat “I think you should have a Trolls party” until I have brainwashed them changed their minds.

Look at how cute these invitations from Sheras Creation are! Adorable, right?

2 | Valentine’s Day

I used to hate Valentine’s Day. It’s a week before my birthday and my childhood boyfriends could never afford a gift for both occasions. Now, the hubs and I rarely celebrate it. I’m thankful just to have him. I don’t need a gift. It’s funny how growing up will change your perspective, huh?!

But…since having kids I do go a bit out of my way to share the love with them on V-Day with fun crafts, decorations, and even a bit of chocolate! I always get them a special Valentine’s Day shirt to wear too. Check out this one I just ordered for Jase from Crazy 8.Crazy 8 Handsome Tee

3 | Gilmore Girls

I cannot give you one good reason why I never watched Gilmore Girls from the get-go! It wasn’t until all the Year in the Life hype that I even considered watching. I started with Season 1. It’s been slow going (I only get to watch in the evening after the kids are in bed), but I am finally on Season 3. And I am in love…with everyone and everything. I want to live in Stars Hollow and drink coffee at Luke’s every day. Is that so much to ask?

I’m so obsessed in fact, that I have just purchased this mug and this tee. Shhh. Don’t tell my husband. He’s the you don’t need another coffee mug, Angela Natzi.

 4 | Toy Storage

Toys may be the death of me. Forever I have been looking for the perfect toy storage solution. I’ve tried it all and nothing sufficed my urge to not just neatly organize, but completely hide all the Paw Patrol pups, the Hot Wheels Cars, and the uber tiny Shopkins crap. I can tell you that I have browsed Amazon 16 million times for that special something. It wasn’t until this week, that I found it! Seriously. And I’m so excited to share it with you!

Let me introduce you to my new love – the Songmics Faux Leather Folding Storage Ottoman. I bought two of them (they come in 4 different colors) for the play area in our living room. Now, I’m thinking I need one for each of their rooms upstairs. They’re that great, friends. What’s not to love about being able to hide toys when you need to and have extra seating. I call that a #momwin.

5 | Conquering Clutter
