Italian Beef Burgers | A New Twist on an Old Family Favorite

Have you ever eaten a beef burger? They’re basically ground beef with onions and green peppers served on hamburger buns. These yummy, and family friendly sandwiches have been a favorite of my husband since he was a kid. He says they take him back eating the cafeteria lunch during his elementary school days. That was more than 25 years ago, friends. Shh. Don’t tell him that I told you that!

He, in fact, loves them so much that he put together his own twist on our family recipe using Ragu® Homestyle Thick & Hearty Roasted Garlic Sauce. We’ve named them Italian Beef Burgers.

I was a bit hesitant that I would like it. I am a traditionalist, a don’t change what already works kind of woman. Boy, was I surprised! Everyone loved these! The flavor is amazing. The roasted garlic flavor in this sauce was sweet and not overpowering at all. To make it a complete meal I served a Caesar salad with the burgers.

Don’t let how simple this recipe is to make deter you from trying them! It really makes for a good family dinner. Check out the Ragu® website to see what other flavors of sauce they have, next I want to try the mushroom sauce! You can also find more easy Ragu® recipes HERE.

It is important to me as a mother, that our family gathers around the table for dinner each evening. When I was growing up, this was something that was important to my mom as well.

Of course, there are days where this doesn’t happen and I can foresee as the kids get older that it won’t happen as often. But, I can assure you, on the nights that I make our new family favorite, Italian Beef Burgers using Ragu® Homestyle Roasted Garlic sauce, the hubby and the kids will be there with me to eat and continue our family tradition of at least one meal around the dinner table each week!
